The new version of the standard CobiT 4.1

Association ISACA announced a new version of the standard Cobit 4.1. The new version will be available On-line at the end of May, and now you can get a printed version. Major changes in new version:
- Widened section «Executive overview» and narrative standard, made additional references to the processes and the diagrams in the main part of the standard.
- Added explanations for the goals and metrics, see Framework, which describes the structure of the standard
- Definitions of basic concepts. The definition «control objective» - monitoring purposes, the new edition focuses on the administrative aspect of control.
- Refined and improved control objectives and control procedures to avoid duplication.
The first version of the standard was released in 1996 by the Audit and Control Information Systems (Information Systems Audit and Control Foundation, ISACF). The second version was published in 1998. The third version was developed jointly ISACA CobiT and The IT Governance Institute (ITGI) and was released in 2000 The latest version of Cobit 4.0 standard was published in 2005
CobiT is used in tasks such as the organization's strategic and operational IT management processes based on best practices, control and audit of the existing IT management systems, the costs of IT projects and maintenance of IT infrastructure. CobiT ensures that the practice of IT management processes and information requirements of regulatory bodies.
